City portrait Kaiserslautern
Kaiserslautern is at least at second glance worth a trip. The site of the 2006 World Cup has a wide array of offerings available: an inventive gastronomy, an idyllic old town, Palatinate theater, zoo, garden show and the natural scenery of the Palatinate forest. Hikers and mountain bikers only need a few minutes and they are deep in the forest. Attractions such as the Palatinate gallery, the Japanese Garden and the Cultural Center Kammgarn are accessible by foot from the city center.
